Wes Long
Club President & Director of Coaching
Wes joined City in the summer of 2012 and became the Director of Coaching in the Fall of 2012.
Wes is responsible for all baseball operations club-wide with emphasis on the development of players and coaches. Wes was a two-time All American shortstop and pitcher at the University of Alabama at Huntsville, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree. Drafted in the 2004 Major League Baseball Amateur Draft by the Oakland A's, Wes subsequently played 8 years of professional baseball. He has also spent time Coaching professionally for the Chicago Cubs, Scouting for the Oakland Athletics, and has served as an Assistant Coach on Donny Harrel's staff at Seattle University.
Wes has earned his reputation in Seattle's youth baseball community as a premier teacher of the game of baseball. Wes' focus is on developing both players and coaches, always with an eye on the Club's objective of developing its players within a continuity of instruction, from the youngest ball player to the most senior.
Wes also prides himself on leading the Club's efforts to prepare players for playing at the next level. Wes runs the Club's College Placement Program and has helped place almost 200 players at the collegiate level over the last decade.
