City's Exclusive Indoor Facility
The City Baseball Center, located in the Fisherman's Terminal neighborhood in Seattle, is the exclusive indoor training facility of City Baseball. Given the weather in Seattle, year-round baseball necessitates indoor training. As part of the City program, City offers an extensive indoor schedule to all of its teams throughout the year. The City Baseball facility offers a unique opportunity for its teams to practice indoors within minutes from downtown Seattle. City's indoor training center features 12,000 square feet of batting cages, a 15,000 square foot throwing yard, and a 2,000 square foot weight room.
Strength and Conditioning Program
One cornerstone of our Club's foundation is the conviction that baseball is a speed and strength game. The Club maintains a 3,000 square foot weight training center within our baseball facility. The Strength and Conditioning Program begins at age 13 with light body resistance techniques and develops in earnest throughout the player's high school years.
Recreational Baseball Outreach
Every year, City Baseball's leadership works closely with recreational baseball organizations (Little League and Pony) on many topics including player recommendation, rec baseball sponsorship, coach and player instruction, use of City's baseball facility, and identifying players with financial need interested in Club baseball. In 2019, City Baseball founded the Weigel Foundation to both honor the passing of one of City Baseball's most revered Coaches and to create a vehicle whereby we can insure that the cost of Club baseball will never prevent a player from being rostered at City Baseball.
City Baseball Fall Ball
City Baseball Fall Ball is a distinct and separate program, a 7 week program, starting in September and ending late in October when the teams compete in a travel tournament, e.g., the Fall Desert Classic in Las Vegas. Fall Ball is a separate and distinct program. Registration is opened early in late June or early July each year. Fall Ball is designed and is coached by City Baseball President Wes Long and the Club's most senior coaches and instructors. Teams are formed from 11u to 18u. The program will consist of two weekday trainings and game(s) each weekend leading up to the travel tournament scheduled to culminate the program. Participation is limited to ball players who have been rostered on City Baseball teams OR by invitation. Players who have not previously been rostered on a City team are encouraged to inquire. Fall Ball is not related to being invited to joining a Full Season Club team. Full Season Club teams are formed after summer tryouts for the next baseball year.
Fall Ball Teams (Formed 1st come 1st serve, summer registration)
Mid-September through the end of October
The Club's Fall Ball Program is run as a distinct stand alone program. Fall Ball is organized separately for the simple reason that the Club has found over the years that athlete often desire a a break and a time to either recover physically or to pursue another activity. The goal of Fall Ball is to provide players with an opportunity to play more baseball, receive personalized instruction, and build knowledge of their strengths/weaknesses as they head into off-season training.
